You are likely to be designing to your style already so put together some mockup clothing on a model through photoshop and test your design. Does it look good? Would you wear it? ...Make sure your print flows, it's going on a body so be aware of where certain colours will lay and if it will be flattening."

Shyanne Clarke "Textile Designer + Sparkle Casher" at PRINT SEA

This book is very easy to read, there are no tutorials but there is lots of information with practical tips and images to illustrate how to develop your artwork beautifully. It includes colour and trend forecast, layout styles, how to scale motifs correctly, how to develop a collection and how to market your work. A list of resources are available at the back of the book.

Textile tutorials are available on www.textiledesignlab.com in which I am a member of and have completed some of their excellent online courses from home. It has forums to network with textile designers worldwide. I highly recommend this book to further your career in the fashion industry.

Here is the link to purchase a copy...Designing Textiles for the Fashion Industry eBook
